Micky Adams will return to his former club and boyhood team after Vale were drawn away to Sheffield United in the FA Cup second round. The Blades overcame Bristol Rovers to book their spot in the draw after a hard fought 2-1 victory. Although on paper it represents one of the tougher ties the Valiants could have faced, Adams` side will travel in confidence to Bramall Lane, boasting an impressive away record so far this season. With the added spice of the Vale boss returning to South Yorkshire following an unsuccessful spell in charge of United, there will be little doubt that the Vale side that also boasts Sheffield Wednesday supporters in Louis Dodds and John McCombe (as well as prospective owner Paul Wildes) will be fired up for the game.

The tie is set to be played the weekend of 1/2 December.
