Manager Micky Adams has confirmed that he will make some changes for tonight’s Capital One Cup second round tie against Championship Cardiff City.

With the fixtures still coming thick and fast, despite the shake up in the team, Adams will be looking to see us build on our convincing win over Hartlepool in the first round and cause an upset against the 2011-12 runners up.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, he explained.

‘We were always going to make changes against Cardiff, I feel that certain players, because of the reserve fixtures not fitting in with our schedule, haven’t had a game since Southport away. That’s dangerous just in case we need them, so we will be making changes.’

Adams goes on to say that he’s always said we have a good squad, and he feels that everybody he does select for tonight’s match will be ‘worthy’ of their place in the team and their chance to impress in place of colleagues, stating that the team picked in his mind could face Chesterfield on Saturday without him having any worries at all, so clearly he wants a good showing and he’s expecting us to challenge and hopefully win.

We’ll find out if that faith is justified won’t we.
