Port Vale are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Port Vale in the one nil victory over Exeter City at the weekend at St James Park was enough to earn them a place as manager of the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Aspin was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Port Vale`s resurgence under new boss Neil Aspin continued on Saturday, as his Valiants side emerged 1-0 victors in an away encounter at Exeter City to climb up to 21st in Sky Bet League Two. Tom Pope scored the only goal of the game at St James Park, making it six in four, in what was Aspin`s third successive win as Vale manager.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Aspin for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Scott Flinders (Cheltenham Town), Aristote Nsiala (Shrewsbury Town), Chey Dunkley (Wigan Athletic), Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest), Florian Jozefzoon (Brentford), Erhun Oztumer (Walsall), Ed Upson (MK Dons), Jevani Brown (Cambridge United), Samu Saiz (Leeds United), Leo Bonatini (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Lewis Grabban (Sunderland).

Manager – Neil Aspin (Port Vale).
