After fans group the North London Valiants announced their intention to call an EGM in order for shareholders to decide whether to accept Mo Chaudry`s bid for the club, the local businessman has outlined his plans for the Vale should he succeed. Results of NLV`s recent poll showed that 77% of shareholders do not have confidence in the current board to make the right decisions about future investment in the club.

Chaudry amongst other things, dispels the rumour that he is trying to buy the club on the cheap, stating that he is willing to pay £5 a share and that the ground will not be separated from the club. “We will not embark upon a programme of asset stripping. We will embark upon a programme of economic growth improving cash flow and commercial opportunities / profile of PVFC. We will particularly focus upon securing revenues for the stadium and facilities on non-match day usage to ensure commercial activity 7 days a week.”

Some of Chaudry`s ideas are certainly interesting, and there is little doubt that the club needs to broaden its commercial, marketing and communication avenues. However, it is what happens on the pitch that will be the most important issue for many supporters. On this front, Chaudry claims: “We will look to strengthen the team at the end of the season and our player recruitment philosophy is to acquire players who will perform competitively at the League above whichever League PVFC finds itself in. Thus if PVFC is in Division 1, we want to be recruiting players capable of performing in The Championship. By developing the team in this way, we will be promoted with a team ready made to compete at the next level.”

There certainly doesn`t seem much comparison between Chaudry`s vision for the future and the club`s half hearted attempt a few weeks back. It finally looks as if the shareholders will get the opportunity to make their voices heard.
