Port Vale have announced the signing of Aziz Deen-Conteh following a successful trial period.

The defender, formerly with Chelsea as a youngster, has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him stay at Vale Park until 2017.

Explaining his arrivals Rob Page told the official website: ‘We’d like to welcome Aziz to the football club.

‘I spoke to Adi Viveash, who has worked with him at Chelsea with regards to the development and he speaks very highly of him.

‘We know we’ve got a talent on board and one we can develop to hopefully benefit he first team and the football club.’

Last season the 21-year-old spend time with Greek outfit FC Ergotelis, whom he signed for following his release by Chelsea, which came just a month after they won the Champions League. Deen-Conteh was a part of that squad but didn’t feature at all.

Formerly an England youth international, up to and including U19 level, the defender has done enough recently during his trial spell with the club so we’ll all look forward to seeing what he can do in the coming years.
