Sam Foley has spoken to the Official Website about the ‘very good memories’ he has of playing against Fleetwood, who will provide the opponents to Port Vale this weekend as Rob Page looks to get the Valiants back on track.

Back-to-back defeats is something Vale are looking to recover from on Saturday when Page takes us to Fleetwood’s Highbury Stadium for the latest League 1 game, which is a place Foley has previous at!

It was a number of years ago but as a then Newport player, and playing in Non-League at the time – which shows the movement forward he’s made as a player but, in fairness, the strides forward Fleetwood have made as a club too – Foley has recalled a hat-trick he scored against the Cod Army at Highbury.

A repeat of that would be very welcome, however he’s said he’ll settle for a goal for starters.

‘That would be nice.

‘That was a few years ago now but I have got very good memories of that ground. I’d take a goal over a hat trick to begin with though.’

We’ll take a goal, two or a hat-trick from 28-year-old Foley or anyone on Saturday wouldn’t we in Lancashire as we look to end a losing streak.!
