Knee Problems Continue For Tudor

Winger Shane Tudor has confessed that he has at times felt his career could be finished after struggling to return to fitness after knee surgery last February.

Tudor has worked his way back onto the Vale bench, however, inflammation on his knee means he will be out of action for at least another ten days.

Speaking to The Sentinel Shane said:

‘I’ve feared for my career because I’ve been out for six months…over that time I’ve had niggles and thought I’m never going to get back.’

‘You have ups and downs, and its just a matter of climbing the mountain.’

Tudor joined Vale in the summer of 2007 – one of the infamous bunch of signings made by Martin Foyle that included Craig Rocastle, Justin Miller, Paul Edwards and Keith Lowe – and has had an unhappy time at Vale Park.

Poor form made him a target for the boo-boys, and with a growing reputation for an (allegedly) apparent arrogant, unco-operative and lazy persona Tudor became one of several hate-figures present at the Club last season.

Once Lee Sinnott had taken over at Vale Tudor barely got a look in, and it came as no surprise when he was loaned out to Shrewsbury early this year. However, Shane barely had time to sort himself out a locker at The New Meadow before he was sent packing back to Vale Park as problems with his left knee became apparent.

The 26-year-old is going to fight to save his career, having a reputation to re-build will not help matters.
