Port Vale’s League 1 season continued with a draw with Fleetwood at Vale Park on Saturday.

The Port Vale chances of forcing themselves into the play-offs, which Rob Page talked up a little ahead of the game, weren’t helped by a goalless draw with relegation threatened Fleetwood.

Fleetwood ‘keeper Chris Maxwell denied the likes of Theo Robinson and Sam Foley with Michael O’Connor almost winning it late on too.

These were the other results.

Friday 12th February 2016
Burton 1-0 Chesterfield

Saturday 13th February 2016
Blackpool 2-3 Shrewsbury
Colchester 1-4 Swindon
Coventry 6-0 Bury
Crewe 1-1 Walsall
Doncaster 0-1 Sheff Utd
Gillingham 2-1 Barnsley
Peterborough 0-4 Bradford
Port Vale 0-0 Fleetwood
Rochdale 0-1 Millwall
Scunthorpe 1-0 Southend
Wigan 0-0 Oldham

At the top Burton (one-nil against Chesterfield) maintained their grip making sure they did what they had to on the Friday night but that extended lead was cut a bit by Gillingham (two-one) with an impressive win against a very much in-form Barnsley side.

Wigan (nil-nil with Oldham) and Walsall (one-one at Crewe) will both be disappointed you feel to drop points against teams at the wrong end of the table with Coventry (six-nil against Bury) getting back on track in impressive fashion at the Ricoh Arena!

Struggling Colchester (four-one against Swindon) look to be in even more trouble after a crushing defeat at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

But the stand result has to be the Bradford (four-nil at Peterborough) win at London Road! Posh had, just days earlier, only been denied an FA Cup win against Premier League side West Brom on penalties with the Bantams winning handsomely to get their play-off push going again.
