The Port Vale run in the Capital One Cup is continuing for at least one more round after the first round win against Burnley at Vale Park on Tuesday.

Rob Page saw his side pull off a League Cup upset against Sean Dyche’s side, who were playing in the Premier League this time last year, as a late goal secure Vale a memorable one-nil win.

With eight-minutes to go Moore (82) was given the goal as Burnley look to claim it hadn’t cross the line, the officials disagreed and despite a late scare when Boyd hit the post the Valiants went through.

Not all of the first round matches have actually been complete mind!

Doncaster hosts Leeds in the remaining first round tie on Sky Sports tonight, after which the second around draw will be made at around 10pm.

A fair few upsets weren’t there with a number of Championship sides falling at the first hurdle, as well as some League 1 sides who might have been expected to progress.

Shrewsbury, Oxford, Carlisle, Hartlepool, Notts County, Luton, Barnet, Northampton, Walsall, Port Vale (of course), Bury, York and Portsmouth being the stand out results and the clubs to progress that could well be feared in the second round draw?

Arguably, putting aside the Valiants win that’s a given, the pick of the bunch of the first round winners were League 2 sides Oxford, Notts County, Luton, Barnet, York and Portsmouth….

Following the outcome of the match on Tuesday we know Port Vale will be in the pot, in which case who would you like us to get in round two?

Not only do we want you looking, as you are now, we’re also looking for your thoughts and views on the League Cup result Vale had too, so do share some of those with your comments below.
