The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Coventry City on Boxing Day.

Port Vale travel to Coventry City on Saturday December 26 for the game at the Ricoh Arena and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Rob Lewis
Linesmen: Barry Cropp and Stuart Eagland
Fourth Official: Ian Smedley

Match Day referee Lewis (Shrewsbury) has officiated one Port Vale game this season – the three nil victory over Doncaster Rovers back in August. In that game he showed four yellow cards, one to Port Vale.

He has however already taken in thirteen other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and Football divisions, he has handed out a total of 45 yellow cards and three red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Peterborough and Crawley on August 11 with a total of seven yellows being shown.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
