New Loan Signing

Jim Gannon has sealed the signing of Bristol Rovers midfielder Dominic Blizzard on an emergency loan deal. Blizzard played under Gannon during his spell at Stockport County and appears to be exactly the sort of player the Vale boss admires, given his ability to play in a number of positions across midfield.

The 26 year old started his career at Watford, before spells with MK Dons and Stockport. Blizzard switched to Rovers in the summer of 2009 but has found first team opportunities hard to come by this season at the Memorial Stadium.

The move seems a little strange on the face of things as the Valiants appear well equipped in the midfield areas at present. Doug Loft and Anthony Griffith are both being kept out of the side by Gannon`s favourite Exodus Geohaghon, while Rob Taylor, Louis Dodds and Sean Rigg all provide options out wide.

Blizzard will go straight into the squad for Saturday`s match at Accrington Stanley.

Welcome to Vale Park, Dom.
