Northampton away – Sat 30th Sep

Northampton. The town that invented shoes. And Boots. And dodgy goth band Bauhaus. So what else do we know about this town? Well, its bus station – Greyfriars – was recently, and deservedly, nominated amongst the most ugliest buildings in the country. On the outskirts of the town there is (sort of) a holiday park – Billing Aquadrome – situated right next door to a sewer farm and tip. Its main shopping centre – The Grosvenor Centre – is a ’70’s relic, the rest of the town centre is been taken over by pound shops.
On the positive side a good night can be had in Northampton if you stick to the Wellingborough Road – an oasis of pubs, restaurants and take-aways, m’ducks.
