Manager Rob Page was delighted to see the effort that the players put into today’s one nil victory over Rochdale.

Michael Brown scored the only goal of the game just after the hour mark, and it was enough to see us end the match with another win and all three points.

Speaking to the Official Site following the match, the manager beamed.

‘We’re really pleased. We had to work hard for it, albeit with a makeshift back four as well, which I thought were outstanding. They won some big headers late on for us to take the pressure off but, all in all, I’m proud of everyone of them today, they put a great effort and shift in.’

Speaking about the game more specifically, and Brown’s contribution, the manager added.

‘You have big players for big occasions and Michael was outstanding. He hasn’t played a lot lately, but he’s a very fit lad who doesn’t give me any problems at all. I’m very pleased with him and for him. We knew Rochdale would have a lot of possession and we would have to be patient, and they were eventually reduced to launching long balls into our box and that’s a compliment to the players, Rochdale are a good team.’

Page went on to say that we know we have threats around the team, and he was pleased to see us remain patient and play to our strengths to ensure the victory, but obviously there were passages of play he wasn’t pleased with from the first half but the players gave him the reaction he was after in trying to put those things right after they spoke at half time, and overall he thought our second half showing was ‘very good.’
