Port Vale were beaten two-one by Colchester in League 1 on Tuesday.

Valiants boss Rob Page shares his views on these dropped points with what he told the BBC.

A couple of early injuries, which forced his hand, ‘didn’t help’ as Page says but when you concede a ‘silly goal’ nor does that!

‘The injuries haven’t helped us. That’s two forced changes we have had to make in the first half an hour.

‘Everybody has seen what Enoch is all about. He is a big loss for us. I put young Ryan Lloyd in who did ok, but is still learning at this level. I threw him in the deep end.

‘Then, with Chris Birchall coming off, I had to put on Louis Dodds, who is not an out-and-out wide man. He is a front man. But we had to get on with it. We got ourselves back into the game just before half time and we conceded again, a silly goal.’

The above were some of his post-match thoughts from this game at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
