Sacking Was A Phone Vote!

The Sentinel has this morning revealed the full extent of the unprofessional approach from the Vale Board with regards to yesterdays sacking of Lee Sinnott.

Rather than call an emergency board meeting (as Central News had suggested they had done on Sunday) Chairman Bill Bratt met with a couple of ‘senior` directors yesterday morning, who then conducted a phone vote with the remaining directors – the result being that Sinnott was voted out of the Port Vale house.

Vice-Chairman Dave Smith was clearly unhappy with events, and it is patently clear that the nine directors are not singing from the same hymn sheet.

Speaking to The Sentinel Smith had this to say:

“I was totally against this happening…I believe he (Sinnott) suffered from not having the 100% support of the board of directors…The vote was taken on a phone-round.”

The phone vote ended 6-3 in favour of sacking Sinnott. What an appalling way to conduct professional business. Even sadder is the fact that all our dirty laundry is visible for everyone to have a good laugh at. The sooner this episode is resolved the better.
