There may be an ‘international break’ for those in the top two divisions but life goes on in league 1, for most of us, as Port Vale hit the road.

League 1 leaders Peterborough, who recovered from a difficult start to the season, entertain Port Vale at London Road on Saturday afternoon.

Marcus Maddison and Luke James both scored on their Peterborough debuts against Leyton Orient in a three-two JPT defeat in midweek as the defending champions crashed out, they could play a part?

As Micky Adams looks for us to end a run of three straight defeats he’ll have to do without loan signings Achille Campion (thigh strain) and Jordan Slew for a little longer.

Byron Moore, Michael Brown, and Chris Robertson are all looking for recalls.

Ahead of the game Port Vale boss Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke: ‘Achille unfortunately won’t be involved on Saturday. He has a bit of a thigh strain.

‘He’s had that really since he’s been with us but we’ve signed him and he’ll need two or three weeks to recover from it.

‘Jordan played for an hour against Chester the other day. He was excellent and then he blew a gasket.

‘That can sometimes happen because it was a hot day, but also he needs a little fitness work so he’s not quite ready yet, but when he is up to standard he’ll give me food for thought.’
