The latest weekend of league 1 football is here with Port Vale in action at home as the ‘big boys’ take their international break.

Port Vale, looking to put the disappointment of the FA Cup exit last weekend behind us, welcome Rochdale to Vale Park on Saturday afternoon.

We face a bit of a defensive shortage now that Remie Streete was recalled, just after his loan was extended, by Newcastle United due Ryan McGivern and Richard Duffy (both suspension) missing out after they collected their fifth bookings of the season in our four-three defeat to Milton Keynes Dons last weekend.

Reiss Greenidge, Chris Robertson and Frederic Veseli all come into contention to come in.

Rochdale are without Ian Henderson (suspension) and Matty Lund (international duty but can call upon Jack O’Connell, who wasn’t granted permission from his parent club to play in the FA Cup last weekend.

Josh Lillis is back from injury, and made the bench last weekend but Peter Vincenti (knee) is still out.
