Alex Nimely has been training with Port Vale recently and we could add him to our squad if he continues to impress.

The former Manchester City striker, who had been with the club from his teenager years until last summer when he was released at the end of his contract, has impressed during training and turned out for the reserves again this afternoon.

Formerly and England U20 international the 23-year-old had spells on loan with Middlesbrough, Coventry City and Crystal Palace during his time with Man City but a first-team breakthrough wasn’t possible and he’s been seeking a club since his summer release.

Nimely is viewed as a player that Rob Page, if we sign him, will be looking to make inroads into the first-team sooner rather than later.
