Vale To Release Loft Statement

Vale captain Doug Loft has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following a training ground incident yesterday. Reports have suggested that Loft was involved in an altercation with defender Daniel Jones. Little clarification of events has emerged, which makes it difficult and unwise to speculate too much at this stage. However, the injury suffered by Loft appears to be of a serious nature, with some reports indicating he may have suffered a broken nose and/or a broken cheekbone. The club are set to make a statement on the affair, unless the brief sentence currently on the Official Site is all that is presently being divulged.

Vale will be without several first team regulars for the trip to relegation threatened Notts County tomorrow. Joining Loft and Jones on the sidelines are Chris Neal and Chris Lines, meaning manager Micky Adams will be forced into even more changes for a game in which he was expected to give those on the fringes of the first eleven a run-out.
