If I retain any memory of this entirely forgettable Vale performance it will be of a Stuart Tomlinson goal kick in the first half: in front of him ten grey statues. Three games; no goals; no plan; no shape; no width; no pace; no movement; no resilience; second best in almost every challenge; things unravelling off the pitch. Good people, this is getting serious.
