The official Crewe Alex website has reported that the club has accepted an offer of £30,000 from The Vale for striker Luke Rodgers.
However, Rodgers is apparently keeping his options open and will also be considering offers from other clubs – Leyton Orient are also showing alot of interest.
Crewe Boss Dario Gradi explained to the website that he would like Rodgers to remain at the club as back up for Varney and Maynard and is in no rush to sell him.
Obviously for Vale fans the purchase of Rodgers almost certainly means the departure of 18 goal Leon Constantine.
Can Rodgers be a match for Leon? Certainly a hard act to follow.

I hope the Tin Man isn’t thinking about playing him out on the right – He’s a striker! It will be interesting to see how we line up if Rodgers and Richards both come to Vale Park, will Sodje drop to the bench?
