Bill Bratt, chairman of Port Vale has said that both Sam Collins and Billy Paynter will ‘earn a lot more’ at Championship outfit Hull. Both players have joined The Tigers on loan with a view to permanent moves in the January transfer window. Collins will command a fee of £65 000 and Paynter will cost £125 00.

Bratt says that although the pair moved to the KC Stadium for footballing reasons they will also earn more money at Hull and hard up Vale would not have been able to compete with the wages being offered.

He said: ‘Sam and Billy are ambitious lads and now have a great chance to prove themselves at a higher level. Good luck to them, they have been great servants to Port Vale and will now earn a lot more money at Hull.’
