This is Martin Foyle’s glowing verdict on new signing striker Marc Richards.
The 24-year-old striker joined Vale on a free from Barnsley this morning, and has a two-year contract at Vale Park.
Richards was set to come to Vale Park in January as part of the deal that would have seen Leon Constantine join Barnsley, however the deal fell through as Constantine backed out at the eleventh hour.
Richards joins Luke Rodgers, Akpo Sodje and Danny Glover as the four strikers Vale will start next season with.

if hes been after him for 2 years then hope he proves worth it otherwise could be a major egg on the face type job here !
Richards was certainly highly regarded at Northampton Town a couple of years ago – although i think they were div.2 at the time, anyway I’m sure he’s going to be a good signing for us!
I think he’ll be a good signing, Foyle obviously loves him and it seems that Richards was really up for joining us. Its just a shame that we couldn’t have him in Janaury with £125,000 as well!
