Vital Poll: Rodgers is best signing

Luke Rodgers has topped the Vital Poll sking ‘Which signing would make the most impact this season?’.

Rodgers scored 36% in the poll, with Malvin Kamara polling 34%. Clayton Fortune came in third with 16% and Ross Gardner scored 6%.

Rodgers made his debut on Saturday at Brighton and came closest to scoring for Vale in a 0-0 draw. Scoring chances were few and far between for Vale, but Rodgers gave a good enough account of himself with his work rate. The goals will come!

Malvin had a quiet game, with little opportunity to show us what he is capable of down the wing, but like Rodgers showed us he is prepared to graft for the team.

Clayton missed Saturdays game with a thigh injury, but has already impressed with his assured performances at cenre half.

Gardner went off after just 25 minutes on Saturday with a hip injury, and is a doubt for next Saturdays trip to Leyton Orient. Ross is, according to Martin Foyle, a ‘versatile’ midfielder, although in my opinion looks far more convincing in the centre of the midfield. Will improve with more games.

Hard to judge after the game at Brighton, we’ll definitely have to be more creative when attacking to bring out the best in Rodgers and Kamara.

Clayts has already proved himself, I’m still not sure about Gardner. I’ve got a good feeling about Kamara he’s got legend written all over him!
