Walsh: Fiercely proud!

Defender Michael Walsh picked up the Fan’s Player-of-the-month award for February before Tuesday nights draw against Cheltenham.

After picking up the award the 29-year-old defender said he was ‘fiercely proud’ to ba playing for Port Vale, and was ‘thrilled’ to be given the award.


Walsh told ‘The Sentinel’, ‘I’ve been through quite alot, but I think the fans know that when i’m on the pitch i give my all.’

‘Only a small minority of them have given me stick. I know a lot of fan’s are behind me all the way.’

Walsh has been missing from the last two games after picking up an injury at Chesterfield, and will be missing against Rotherham. The player is hoping to return for next Saturdays home match against Tranmere Rovers.
