For a second weekend running Port Vale avoided defeat, although unlike last weekend we had to settle for a point this time.

A late equaliser at the end of the first half from Bradford pegged Port Vale back with us having to settle for a 1-1 draw at Valley Parade on Saturday afternoon.

We were given the chance to take an early lead in controversial circumstance with Rory McArdle adjudged to have handled in the box, giving us a penalty.

Chris Lines (12) stepped up and converted from the spot to give us the lead.

As half time approached Bradford pegged us back with Mark Yeates (45) firing home a 25-yard freekick to send the sides into half time level at one-one.

Bradford almost scored another from 25-yards but this time Gary Liddle’s effort failed to hit the target with Chris Birchall then denied a winner for us when his effort hit the woodwork as the game ended in a one-one draw.
