Port Vale had led at Gillingham on Saturday before falling behind, a dramatic injury-time goal made sure that we came away from Priestfield with a point with Michael Brown earning us this in the 2-2 draw.

The lead was taken when Dany N’Guessan (18) continued his impressive form for us since his arrival but Gillingham were soon level when defender John Egan (29) thundered home from all of 30-yards just ahead of the half hour mark.

Shortly after the interval Egan (55) was on the scoresheet again as he headed home Michael Doughty’s corner before our former player Doug Loft missed an opportunity to get one over us as he failed to hit the target, something that Jake Hessenthaler also failed to do.

The post had denied Colin Daniel, who had come off the bench, a goal and when the crossbar kept out Louis Dodds’ effort in the last minute it looked like our chance had gone until Brown (90+4) saw his deflected effort slipped the grasp on Gillingham ‘keeper Stuart Nelson and earn us a two-two draw.
