Port Vale and Milton Keynes Dons did battle again, as we had recently in the FA Cup, but it was again our opponents that came out on top as they claimed another win.

It wasn’t a seven-goal thriller, like that FA Cup first round meeting, but the outcome was the same with MK Dons running out winners when they beat us 1-0 at the stadium:mk on Saturday afternoon.

Carl Baker (3) got the home side off to a great start when he fired past Chris Neal and into the bottom corner to give MK Dons the lead.

Our chances of getting anything were dealt another blow before half time when Chris Lines was sent off for violent conduct after head-butting Dele Alli.

Benik Afobe headed wide and Neal saved a Daniel Powell effort as the hosts failed to add to the scoreline, but we couldn’t score either in this one-nil defeat.
