Loft Agrees New Vale Deal

Vale Captain Doug Loft has ended speculation surrounding his future by finally agreeing a new deal with the club. The midfielder had been stalling on the offer of a fresh contract over the summer but has now committed his future to the Vale for the next 12 months.

Loft will provide some much needed versatility within the squad next season. Although he clearly regards central midfield as his best position, he has shone in a variety of roles over recent seasons including right and left back and left midfield.

An understandably happy Micky Adams was told the Official Site “Doug has made a telling contribution to the squad during his time at Port Vale, both on and off the pitch, and I`m pleased he has decided to sign a new deal with us.

“Sometimes these things take time and it needs to be right for both parties. Doug was always a part of our plans and I`m looking forward to working with him for a further season.”

The Vale boss is continuing his search for new arrivals with the Valiants still in need of strengthening in midfield and at centre back.
