Midfielder Sam Morsy looks set to leave the club after turning down a new two year contract. The Valiants would be entitled for a fee for the Wolverhampton born youngster owing to the fact he is under 24 years of age.

Morsy found first team opportunities difficult to come by over the second half of last season. A sending off against Rochdale led to public criticism by manager Micky Adams. Indeed, many supporters were surprised that Morsy was offered a fresh deal as a result.

There was more positive news on Liam Chilvers, who looks set to extend his stay in the Potteries, while Captain Doug Loft is continuing his negotiations over a new contract.
