No Action Over ‘Busgate`

Vale boss Jim Gannon may have been hoping for too much when he stated that the club would make a statement demonstrating strong leadership regarding his bust up with assistant Geoff Horsfield on the team bus en route to Aldershot. Predictably, the matter seems to have been swept under the carpet, as Horsfield returned to work this week with no action taken by the Vale board.

Despite Horsfield telling BBC Radio WM before the Carling Cup final that the situation could not continue it appears as if both men will continue in their present roles, despite the apparent hostility between the pair. Chairman Bill Bratt told The Sentinel that the matter had been resolved satisfactiorily. ‘Everybody has been co-operative with the investigation and I believe we have handled the situation in the proper manner. It has all been sorted amicably. Hopefully we can now move forward together in harmony and secure promotion.’

With the two apparently not on speaking terms it remains to be seen how this can be achieved. As with most issues surrounding the club at present, the board seem to believe burying their heads in the sand will magically resolve all problems.
