Sonner’s hanging around Vale Park

According to The Sentinel Caretaker Boss Dean Glover will not be entertaining the idea of Danny Sonner returning to Vale Park.

Sonner floated the idea of returning in the aftermath of Martin Foyle leaving Vale Park by ‘mutual consent’ (go or we’ll sack you in proper English).

However, this doesn’t appear to be a problem for the 36-year-old hippy-like ex-midfield maestro. Danny has stated that he would be happy just to train with the squad until January – when he will become available to be picked up by another club.

Sonner joined Walsall in the summer after complaining about the lack of ambition at Vale Park and the ‘conference wages’ that were offered to the players.

Unfortunately after just seven games with our Midlands rivals Sonner decided enough was enough and asked for his contract to be cancelled. Since then he has been desperate for the chance to re-join The Valiants – even in the build up to our game against Walsall Sonner was professing undying love for Vale Park and The Fans– and is clearly happy to be involved with the squad in any capacity, even if it means he won’t be playing or getting paid.

Does this mean he’ll be in the crowd at Vale Park every other Saturday, waving to the crowd, thinking he’s a hero for the Fans?

Probably. He sounds totally deluded. Someone should help him.

Sonner is still good enough to walk into our first team whch says alot really. Our situation may well have changed come January but if we’re still strugglling, and we haven’t found any funds to get any quality into the midfield, then why not take him on for the last five months of the season. I’m sure he’d accept ‘conference wages’ if no-one else wants him.

Maybe he’ll be having a few beers in town then necking some KFC before the games.
